”If only it could be like this always, always alone, always summer, the fruit always ripe, and Aloysius always in a good temper.”
"Don’t hang out with people who don’t love you. Don’t try to impress people who aren’t worth it. Don’t try to win people over who aren’t worth it. Focus on yourself, and focus on the people who are really awesome and who love you. Don’t hang out with people who make you feel like shit. Don’t spend your energy on them. There is so much pressure to be part of the right thing: well, you should create the right thing. If you don’t see it, create it. If you don’t see what you want, be the change you want to see."

This is the way I see it: I have paid people, vocal coaches, singing tutors, acting teachers, language teachers, therapists, professional music industry types to provide opinions on my work, and occasionally, on my person, and how to improve it. I have taken what they have taught me and worked hard to apply those lessons to everything I do. Creatively, emotionally, etc.
If I didn’t offer you access to my background or work for review, or even pay you a decent wage to give feedback on things that I do, then what you have to say about me, my work, or even my life (what I have chosen to share about it, anyway) does not mean shit to me. I am old enough to know my own mind. Your opinion of it does not matter.
Unless you appreciate what I do, of course,. :)
